Our Dark Water System investigation is looking into Composite Toilet as a long term reclamation solution to our bio-waste material. What do you think? Have you had any experience with them? any certain brand?

Note #1:
Do not put kitty waste in with human waste.
I am currently using a compost toilet, which is basically a bucket with a wood box and toilet seat, using mulch to cover the waste. The final mixture is transferred to a 50 gallon drum and worms are added. After about 4 months the worms have converted all the waste to worm casting which can be safely, used in gardens.
So far it has worked spectacularly, I'm in the early stages of the test and this is my first try and I will be posting my results with pics. Oh and remember that if add cat waste, (kitty litter, feces, urine) it will kill your worms dead. Something in the waste that affects them immediately. It took me almost 6 months to fill the first barrel, with normal use, and because I had been dumping my kitty litter in with the, toilet "Duff", I had to alternatively start over with a new freashly cleaned barrel. Oh well we'll try again in a few months when the barrel is full again and I have to change to a new barrel.

TIP #2:
Don't buy mulch with manure added, I found this out the hard way, I had to work my way through a bag that had steer manure added, whew, did it smell, especially when it got wet.

Tip #3
Don't buy Top Soil mixtures instead because it's on sale. It has large twigs and sticks that disrupt covering of feces.

You would think something so trivial as Mulch for a Compost toilet system would be fairly easy, but no it's not. The more you know, and the more you use a Compost Toilet the more you understand just how important the right mulch is. I have tried just about every brand and every style with everything from fantastic to disastrous results. There must be 6 different versions of Mulch, with each company making it's own version, so the standard garden mulch from one company won't match the consistency of another. Here is my pic that I like so far... Earthgro all natural Mulch the mgmt
